Melissa Murphy is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Maryland. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later obtained her Master of Social Work in clinical behavioral health from the University of Maryland. Melissa has advanced training and experience in a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma/PTSD, conflict resolution, mood disorders, attachment and identity issues, and emotional regulation.
Melissa uses a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Melissa strives to offer all clients an empathetic space to develop strategies to mitigate symptoms that interfere with well-being. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults.
